On the morning of October 15, 2023, Elvira Maria Correia Fortunato, Portugal’s Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, and her delegation visited The Portugal-China Joint Innovation Centre for Advanced Materials (PCJICAM) in Zhejiang University. Mr. Qiang Fu, Deputy-secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang University, warmly welcomed them. Mr. Jing Shen, President of Singclean Medical, was also invited to the visit.

Minister Elvira Fortunato said that platforms such as The Portugal-China Joint Innovation Centre for Advanced Materials are playing an important role in scientific and technological cooperation and innovation between China and Portugal. She hopes that the two sides will send more international students and researchers to each other through such a platform to further expand areas of cooperation and jointly promote Scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation between China and Portugal.

The Portugal-China Joint Innovation Centre for Advanced Materials was jointly built by the governments of China and Portugal and was established at Zhejiang University in 2013. Relying on the four major platforms of Biomedical materials, Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials, Materials for Energy, and Sustainable materials, The Portugal-China Joint Innovation Centre for Advanced Materials has set up scientific and technological innovation projects jointly organized by universities, research institutes, and enterprises of the two countries. It is to promote the R&D and innovation of key technologies in the field of advanced materials.
